Want to Get Rid of Facebook Timeline? Or You Love It!!

Majority of the people love to spend their time online on social networking sites, especially Facebook. The wide reach of internet along with popularity of these sites has made the concept of social networking even more popular.

Recently, Facebook has come up with another great feature called Facebook Timeline. This tool is for those online users who want to express their personality. Facebook Timeline resembles an online scrapbook. It changes the way you manage your online profile on this site. You will see that Facebook Timeline arranges the content that you have already shared on the social networking site. Your latest update will appear on the top of the page, thereby following a chronological order. You can also experiment on the arrangement of photos that were posted by you earlier.
Facebook Timeline is all about creativity, you can really try out different combination of your photographs and information. Some people are hesitant to changes and this is why they want to get rid of Facebook Timeline. However, getting rid of Facebook Timeline is not as easy as it seems.
As of now, there is no way to get rid of Facebook Timeline. Since it doesn’t show in the installed application section on the account setting page, you cannot delete it. It is being said that ultimately every profile will be converted into a Timeline. However, these are still unconfirmed reports. So whether you like it or not, you have to use the Facebook Timeline.
Facebook Cover is something which immediately catches your attention. Whenever you visit a timeline of a person, you will see the cover first. Facebook Cover has got two columns, one of bigger size which forms a background and the smaller one on the bottom right of the cover. When you use Facebook Timeline, all your privacy and safety features are carried forward from your previous profile and they are retained. If you feel like changing the settings, you can easily do it.
All social networking sites come up with new features and interfaces every time. Sometimes of them are a hit, whereas some are a complete flop. Let’s wait and see whether people will love the new change or will want to get rid of Facebook Timeline.

The Use of Generator

As the name suggests generators are for generating electricity, thereby ensuring that all your electricity requirements are met. There are several types of generators available in the market differing in their wattage capacity. These generators differ in their price, portability, fuel efficiency, voltage ratings as well as fuel type.

Standby generators are a common type of generators that are used to provide backup in offices as well as home. Their wiring is inculcated along with the house wiring. When electrify goes off, the generator unit turns itself on and provide uninterrupted power supply. Go for the one that uses natural gas or propane as it offers you clean, safe and long lasting supply of power. Like other electrical units, generator creates a lot of heat and requires a cooling system so as to main the temperature. These generators can be either liquid cooled or air cooled. Liquid cooled systems are much more dependable as well as quite than the air cooled system. However, they cost more than the air cooled ones.
Portable generators are of perfect use when in places like camps, temporary structure and construction sites, where there is no power supply. These generators are capable to run electrical appliances like TV’s, sump pumps, fridges etc. In majority of the cases, these generators run on gasoline. However, the fuel that it uses emits carbon monoxide and thus is not very safe to use. These generators are ideal when one has to use it for short periods only. This is the reason why portable generators are much smaller and cheaper than as compared to other types of generators.

The speed of the generators is measured in RPM.  Majority of the generators run on two speeds and these include 3600 RPM and 1800 RPM. The former motor is much lighter and smaller whereas the latter is more quite and lasts much longer.
Lastly, you need to assess your needs and requirements first before buying a generator. Go for the well known brands that provide quality after sales service as well. It is also important to take adequate care of the generators, so that its life is enhanced.

The Higg’s Boson - God's Particle

The talks around Higgs Boson, popularly known as God’s Particle are back again. For those of you who don’t know, Higg’s Boson is the basic particle of the universe. It is also a vital particle which breaks down the electroweak symmetry in the Higgs Standard Model. Various experiments are being at conducted to gather more information about Higg’s Boson. For this purpose, a Large Hadron Collider or LHC is especially created at CERN.

Mass still is among the strangest things to understand. Many scientist and physicists have tried to explain it but have failed till date. Earlier mass was seen only as an intrinsic part of the universe. However, Newton helped a lot by relating it with inertia. Problem started when Einstein came up with as theory that the mass increases when object attains speed close to the light speed. There was absolutely no reason behind this change. Present ideas and suggestions conclude that mass did not originate during the Big Bang phase, but after some time. At that time the mass existed only in the form of super fluid particles arranged in symmetry. However, after colliding the mass particles condensed and as a result of which the symmetry was broken. The resulted field of virtual particles is known as Higg’s field.

For better understating of this field, scientists are relying of Large Hadron Collider or LHC. This machine accelerates particles at speed comparable to speed of light. They are trying to create Higg’s Boson or God Particle in Large Hadron Collider. By studying the characteristics as well as nature of Higg’s Boson, scientists will be able to find out the mystery behind Higg’s field.
Large Hadron Collider is quite unique. It has got an underground tunnel which extends more than 27 kilometers and it is said to cost more than five billion dollars. The Higg’s Boson or God Particle will appear only for a fraction of time that too at only few places in Large Hadron Collider.
The world is waiting for the appearance of Higg’s Boson. This particle when detected will solve quite a few question related to quantum physics and universe.

Is it End of Steve Jobs or Apple Era?

With the sadly demise of Steve Jobs, world has lost a great inventor, entrepreneur, leader. No one can ever deny his greatness when it comes to gadgets and gizmos. All his life revolved around technology and related products. Perhaps his “Apple” was of more importance than Apple that dropped on Newton’s head or which Adam gave to Eve.
Steve Jobs even though was into technology since long, he actually came into picture when he controlled the media organization by the name of Pixar during the year 1986-2006. He paid heed to two most important types of leadership, i.e. transformational as well as transactional.  By blending these two types of leadership, he was able to make himself a brand. He was no doubt a charismatic leader.

Steve Jobs bought Graphics Group in the year 1986 at a cost of 10 million dollars. After getting the control over the company, he relocated the ceremony to California and the name was also changed to Pixar. Steve Jobs had long term plans as well. He not only paid attention to achieving immediate financial success but also long term stability and revenue generation. He was more concerned of future rather than present. He also kept himself updated on the technology being released by the others.
It was never so easy for Steve, a college dropout. He was asked to leave by CEO of Apple because of his visionary thoughts. As a result of this spat, Jobs left Apple and formed another venture by the name of NeXT computers.  This company soon bought Pixar. The success of this great inventor that time forced many people to enter into the business of computer technology.
Toy Story came out from the Steve controlled Pixar. It was a 3D movie, one of a kind at that time. It made Steve famous in a single day and applauds came from all the sides. Things turned quickly and Steve was back in Apple. The real change came with the introduction of Apple iPod, then iPhone and finally iPad. These gadgets became more than a tool of communication and entertainment. Steve made these gadgets a part of our lives. In 2006, Steve was diagnosed with cancer and it made him change. He used to spend quality time with friends and family, knowing that his time is near. Yet, he made a strong comeback and showed good recovery.
On 5th October 2011, Steve breathed his last surrounded by family and close friends. He is no more with us now, but the Apple legacy he has left for us is going to be with the world forever.

Avoid Harmful Effects of Mobile Phones

The last few years have seen rapid increase in the sales and popularity of the mobile phones. The number of cell phone users has increased like anything in these years. Kids to teenagers to adults, everyone is using mobile phones. However, with the widespread use of the mobile technology, comes along many health risks and it is very important for every one of us to be know about the potential health risks of using mobile phones.

Various studies conducted worldwide point out that long or continuous use of mobile phones can lead to brain tumors. It may lead to problems like glioma and acoustic neuroma. In some extreme cases, it may lead to ipsilaterla exposure, which implies, that the tumor is one the same side of your brain where mobile phones are mostly held. Some researchers have been carried out to see whether the microwaves that are emitted by the mobile phones are responsible in increasing the cancer cells; however, it is still not proved.

Mobile phones emit electromagnetic radiations. Since mobile phones are powered by electricity, they are bound to emit magnetic as well as electrical fields. All of us carry mobile phone, which implies that we are exposed to such radiations most of the times. There has been rising concerns about mobile phone batteries as well. Overheating of batteries or use of fake batteries sometimes has lead to battery explosions, thereby injuring people or in some cases leading to loss of life. Such incidents have been reported from several parts of the world.

This is perhaps the reason why many people prefer the use of protective shield. This shield helps in neutralizing the effects of the radiation on the human body. If you are exposed to microwave radiation for a long period of time then it may interfere with the DNA and brain waves.

Many researches support the use if hands free kit when one is talking on the phone. Bluetooth devices should also be used in this regards. These are some of the additional measures that one should adopt just to minimize the harmful effects of mobile phone radiation. These are also not expensive items; you can easily purchase them at affordable rates in the market.

No doubt mobile phone is a boon to all of us. However, with technology come some ill effects of it. Remember prevention is always better than cure.

Bluetooth Technology: A Revolutionary Technology

Today’s world is all about technology. The world today is quite different from what it used to be two or three decades back. It has become very important for us to stay updated as far as technology is concerned. Technology has become an inseparable part of our lives. We all use it every day in some form or the other.

Bluetooth technology is one such technology which has become extremely popular among the mobile phone users. It allows the user to send or receive data wirelessly. This technology is used in Personal Area Network (PAN) or small private networks. Apart from mobile phones there are other devices as well which uses Bluetooth technology. You can easily send images, videos, and music etc. using Bluetooth. There are some laptops which have got in built Bluetooth technology, which makes it pretty easy to access files and folders. Bluetooth technology makes your device portable, which is not possible in case of wires and cables.

Another beneficial outcome of Bluetooth technology is wireless mouse and keyboards. With the rising concerns of e-waste, it has become important that we adopt environment friendly methods like Bluetooth technology. This technology makes use of radio waves like FM and mobile phone does. The only difference between them is perhaps the distance. Bluetooth technology can just transmit data to your personal space unlike radio or TV signals which transmits the data to over several miles.

This technology was pioneered by military in 1940’s. Later in 1994, a Swedish company Ericsson invented this technology. Realizing the potential of Bluetooth technology, a group of companies paired their devices to use this technology. Seeing its working, this group of companies formed SIG (Special Interest Group). This organization focuses on maintaining the technology. It is interesting to note that this technology is not held or owned by a single company. It is under SIG, which upgrades and maintain Bluetooth technology.

With the passage of time, Bluetooth technology is maturing and people are finding it very easy to create connection which they were not able to do with wires and cables. More than 15000 companies are making use of this technology in their products. This technology is of great use for people who indulge in talking over phone while driving. Bluetooth technology is also mixing extremely well to the speech recognition technology.
Lastly, today you will find that this technology is being used in many products that are used on daily basis.

Blackberry PlayBook Tablet- Work Hard, Play Smart

New Blackberry PlayBook
Blackberry has always been known to revolutionise the way people work and for that matter now play. And once again Blackberry has gone out to prove that with its new PlayBook, which combines all the power packed features with an ultra portable design. The company initially targets its loyal customer base for its first tablet.  The Blackberry PlayBook faces tough competition from Apple’s iPad and various other tablets that are coming into the market.

So, the big question is that with already some worthy tablets in the market do we need to go for this particular one from Blackberry? Well, decide for yourself after reading this. The Blackberry PlayBook has lot of things that go in its favour like a solid hardware, speedy processors and dual camera which is first of its kind but it faces weakness on the software front, it lacks in useful apps which hold the key to a tab’s success and a weak flash player. Though it has powerful 1 GB RAM however, running too many apps at once causes overload and frequent system crash.

PlayBook Tablet
With most of the Tab’s in the market of being around 10”, Blackberry’s PlayBook is most portable with 7” and its screen provides for bright, sharp viewing experience while you are working, playing games or watching movies. The tablet weighs just under a pound.  Dual speakers frame the front on the left and right sides and can possibly be the loudest on a mobile device. They offer rich, full sound. At the top of the PlayBook, within the bezel, is a light sensor and the 3 megapixel front facing camera. The back of the PlayBook is quite sparse, except for the chrome BlackBerry logo in the centre and the 5 megapixel camera at the top centre and the camera is positioned pretty well too. The entire back is coated with the soft-touch rubber that is on the sides of the PlayBook which provides nice grip without showing fingerprints or minor scratches.

When it comes to app or app store, RIM has opted not to offer a handful of core applications that any user would expect to see on a modern mobile OS, especially one as flashy as the BlackBerry Tablet OS. The PlayBook relies on the browser for emailing and social networking. There are shortcuts pre-installed to open Facebook and Twitter in the browser, but there are no native apps for them. RIM has also left out any form of video conferencing to make use of the front-facing camera.

In Conclusion it won’t be wrong to say that PlayBook is not quite ready yet for mainstream and RIM has integrated much and also left out much.

Signal Processing- An Introduction

Signal Processing is a field of applied mathematics and Engineering, it deals in analysing signals in both discreet and continuous time. Whereas Digital Signal Processing is concerned with analyzing discrete time signals by a sequence of numbers or symbols. The DSP aims at measuring, filtering and compressing the analog signals.

The signal processing is divided under various sub heads, such as:

Analog Signal Processing: It is for signals that have not been digitized , it involves both linear electronic circuits and non linear circuits.

Discrete Time Signal Processing: It is for sampled signals that are considered definite at discrete time intervals, and can only be quantized in time and not magnitude.

Digital Signal Processing: It involves processing of digitized discrete time signals. A continuously changing wave form is converted into a series of different levels.

Converting Analog Signals into Digital Signals

Analog to Digital Converter
The device used for converting Analog to Digital signals is called Analog to Digital Converter (ADC). The simplest ADC uses resistance ladder to switch in the appropriate number of resistors in series to create the desired voltage that is compared to the input voltage. The output of the resistance ladder is compared to the analog voltage in a comparator when there is a match, the digital equivalent is captured.

An important application of Analog to Digital conversion is Binary search, which depends upon:
  • The clock speed of ADC
  • The BIT Resolution

Typical DSP operations include:
  • Filtering
  • Energy of Signals
  • Frequency Transformation

Currently DSP is used in a wide variety of everyday application like:
  • Speech Coding
  • Image/Video Synthesis
  • Adaptive Filtering
  • Image Analysis
  • RADAR/SONAR
  • Data Transmission and Reception

Digital Signal processing is usually implemented with the help of microprocessors, which process the data using fixed point arithmetic. Nowadays a growing number of DSP applications are being implemented on Embedded systems using powerful PCs with multi core processors.
