Is it End of Steve Jobs or Apple Era?

With the sadly demise of Steve Jobs, world has lost a great inventor, entrepreneur, leader. No one can ever deny his greatness when it comes to gadgets and gizmos. All his life revolved around technology and related products. Perhaps his “Apple” was of more importance than Apple that dropped on Newton’s head or which Adam gave to Eve.

Steve Jobs even though was into technology since long, he actually came into picture when he controlled the media organization by the name of Pixar during the year 1986-2006. He paid heed to two most important types of leadership, i.e. transformational as well as transactional.  By blending these two types of leadership, he was able to make himself a brand. He was no doubt a charismatic leader.

Steve Jobs bought Graphics Group in the year 1986 at a cost of 10 million dollars. After getting the control over the company, he relocated the ceremony to California and the name was also changed to Pixar. Steve Jobs had long term plans as well. He not only paid attention to achieving immediate financial success but also long term stability and revenue generation. He was more concerned of future rather than present. He also kept himself updated on the technology being released by the others.

It was never so easy for Steve, a college dropout. He was asked to leave by CEO of Apple because of his visionary thoughts. As a result of this spat, Jobs left Apple and formed another venture by the name of NeXT computers.  This company soon bought Pixar. The success of this great inventor that time forced many people to enter into the business of computer technology.

Toy Story came out from the Steve controlled Pixar. It was a 3D movie, one of a kind at that time. It made Steve famous in a single day and applauds came from all the sides. Things turned quickly and Steve was back in Apple. The real change came with the introduction of Apple iPod, then iPhone and finally iPad. These gadgets became more than a tool of communication and entertainment. Steve made these gadgets a part of our lives. In 2006, Steve was diagnosed with cancer and it made him change. He used to spend quality time with friends and family, knowing that his time is near. Yet, he made a strong comeback and showed good recovery.

On 5^th October 2011, Steve breathed his last surrounded by family and close friends. He is no more with us now, but the Apple legacy he has left for us is going to be with the world forever. 

What is 3G?

Nowadays, you will see almost everyone carrying a mobile phone. No matter whether it is pay as you go or on a contract, the mobile phone has become a necessity. This article will give you a brief on the importance of mobile phones and the technology used to make them operational.

3 G Technology

Mobile phones were introduced as a two way radio in the market a long time back. They were also known by the name of mobile rigs. Earlier, only ambulances, minicabs and police cars used to use these radios, which were mainly connected to the telephone network. Later on the technology improved and newer versions like transportable, called bag phones were introduced in the market.

1G was the name given to the first generation mobile phones. These phones were prevalent in the 1980’s and they continued to show their dominance until 2G mobile phones came out in the market. These phones were powered by digital networks. The 1G and 2G system makes use of digital signals to connect to the radio towers to the phone network, the voice gets encoded in digital signals during the phone call itself, whereas the 1G technology fail to do so. 2G phone came out in the market in nineties and created a storm in the market. 2G phone systems gained popularity because of their advanced and high speed network signaling.

The latest to be introduced are the third generation phones or 3G phones. This technology even though similar to the 2G technology, is far more popular than 2G. Introduction of 3G phones have allowed the phone users to access a large number of services, including wireless internet and video calls etc. With so much to offer, 3G technology is likely to stay around for some time. Ever since the introduction of 3G phones, there have been talks about the 4G technology. This technology will mark the future of mobile phone. If reports are to be believed than this technology will have the options for live streaming of TV shows and Radio, which will further enhance its utility.

Lastly, the mobile phones have undergone a great change ever since their introduction and they will continue to do so in future also.

Analog Versus Digital – Which one do you prefer?

We all use technology everyday in some form or the other. It will not be wrong to say that technology has become a necessity of our life. It helps us to perform various daily tasks in an easy and simple manner. Analog and digital are two major forms of technology. Analog technology consists of the process of taking a video or audio signal and translating it into the electronic pulses, whereas on the other hand, a digital technology breaks the signal into a binary form, where the video or audio data is represented by a series of “0”s and “1”s. Many people argue about which one of these two technologies is better. Analog versus digital can refer to the method of input, kind of display, internal working of an instrument or data transfer etc.

In digital technology, your voice gets broken into binary codes, i.e. a series of 1’s and 0’s and it gets transferred to the other end from where another device, be it TV or modem or phone, takes all these numbers so as to make the original signal.

The best thing about the digital signals is that it knows what should reach at the end of the signal transmission. This helps in correct the errors which arise during the transfer of data. So, digital signals offer you clarity. The nature of the digital technology is such that it allows a lot of 1’s and 0’s together in the same space, which an analog signal form uses. This implies that more and more features can be fit into the digital signal. The clarity is no doubt superb in case of digital signals. However, analog signals are said to give you rich quality.

Over the years the price of the digital technology has also considerably reduced and costs of VCR, CD’s, mobile phone etc are hitting a rock bottom. The digital lines also found their use in corporate phone systems. These lines carry much lower voltage than the analog signals; still they pose threat to the analog equipment.

It can be said that the most effective use of analog versus digital technology is the booming cellular market. With new phones being launched almost every day, the limits of analog are now being realized. The sound quality of analog is still clearer. However, the digital cellular allows more people to use their cell phone in a single coverage area.

Apple iPhone 5- Creating a Buzz in the Market

It has not been much days since Apple iPhone 4 was released, however the buzz for Apple iPhone 5 have already started in the market. Apple iPhone 5 is said to be having a faster processor and a simple and easy to user interface. According to some unconfirmed reports, the shipping of this great Apple product will start somewhere in September later this year.

Apple iPhone which was introduced in the year 2007 with a beautiful touch screen has become a landmark smartphone in the market. Usually the company comes out with a new product every year, however with Apple iPhone 4 being launched in 2010; there has been delay this year. 

Apple has still not made iPhone 5 news public, as they feel that it may hamper the sales of its current version. iPhone is not just a great cell phone but has become a necessity for us. The company sold more than 17 million units in last quarter of the year 2010. Even the other major companies like Nokia, Samsung and LG are also facing stiff competition from Apple, despite of the fact that with just one phone in their kitty Apple are taking on variety giants like Nokia, Samsung etc.

If reports are to be believed another noticeable characteristic of Apple iPhone 5 is that it is going to be affordable. The features of this phone will surely be much more sophisticated and useful than the current version, however there is not going to be much difference in its price. Also, the 8 MP camera feature of this phone is something which is going to impress the users. In terms of looks, the device will look more or less the same as iPhone 4 with the only difference being the rounder edges and back.

Lastly, Apple iPhone is a great device. It helps you to perform various day to day tasks, keeps you connected, allow you to play games, click photos and watch videos. With Apple iPhone 5 being launched soon, the company is going to touch new heights soon.
