Is it End of Steve Jobs or Apple Era?

With the sadly demise of Steve Jobs, world has lost a great inventor, entrepreneur, leader. No one can ever deny his greatness when it comes to gadgets and gizmos. All his life revolved around technology and related products. Perhaps his “Apple” was of more importance than Apple that dropped on Newton’s head or which Adam gave to Eve.

Steve Jobs even though was into technology since long, he actually came into picture when he controlled the media organization by the name of Pixar during the year 1986-2006. He paid heed to two most important types of leadership, i.e. transformational as well as transactional.  By blending these two types of leadership, he was able to make himself a brand. He was no doubt a charismatic leader.

Steve Jobs bought Graphics Group in the year 1986 at a cost of 10 million dollars. After getting the control over the company, he relocated the ceremony to California and the name was also changed to Pixar. Steve Jobs had long term plans as well. He not only paid attention to achieving immediate financial success but also long term stability and revenue generation. He was more concerned of future rather than present. He also kept himself updated on the technology being released by the others.

It was never so easy for Steve, a college dropout. He was asked to leave by CEO of Apple because of his visionary thoughts. As a result of this spat, Jobs left Apple and formed another venture by the name of NeXT computers.  This company soon bought Pixar. The success of this great inventor that time forced many people to enter into the business of computer technology.

Toy Story came out from the Steve controlled Pixar. It was a 3D movie, one of a kind at that time. It made Steve famous in a single day and applauds came from all the sides. Things turned quickly and Steve was back in Apple. The real change came with the introduction of Apple iPod, then iPhone and finally iPad. These gadgets became more than a tool of communication and entertainment. Steve made these gadgets a part of our lives. In 2006, Steve was diagnosed with cancer and it made him change. He used to spend quality time with friends and family, knowing that his time is near. Yet, he made a strong comeback and showed good recovery.

On 5^th October 2011, Steve breathed his last surrounded by family and close friends. He is no more with us now, but the Apple legacy he has left for us is going to be with the world forever. 

Sony Heats Up Android Tablet Competition



Sony S1 & S2



Sony recently launched two sets of Tablets named Sony S1 and S2. Both these use Android Operating system 3.0 Honeycomb. While Sony S1 is intended as entertainment devices, Sony S2 is intended as a tool of communication and entertainment.

Foldable Sony S2

The foldable dual screen S2 is headed towards AT&T. The price and release of the S2 are missing but Sony did promise that Android 3.0 Honeycomb powered S2 would be available for release later this year. This tablet will have both WiFi connectivity and 4G support from AT&T. However, there are a couple of new information that may be of interest. For one, Sony has implemented some new technologies on both the S1 (folding-design 10-incher) and S2 tablets. “Quick View” is a user-managed setting that helps load websites faster than your average tablet by loading pictures first and java script afterwards.

Sony's first tablets won't hit store shelves until autumn, and although Sony is quite late in joining the tab party yet it aims to attain the No. 2 spot behind Apple. The Japanese electronic giant is relying on it’s distinct tablet design to shield it from the copycat criticisms other rivals have faced

Apple ios 5- A Revolutionary OS

The Apple’s all new ios 5 boasts of more than 200 exciting features for the iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch. The ios 5 will be made available by Apple this fall, with compatibility assured for iPhone 4 and 3GS, iPad 1&2 , and iPod touch 3^rd and 4^th generation.

The foremost new feature would be a new notification center which aggregates all your notifications into one and is accessible by swiping down a menu from top of the screen (Looks like Apple has also gone the Android way when it comes to Navigation). Notifications are also making their way onto the lock screen, where swiping across a text message takes you right into it. A little something like Samsung's TouchWiz implementation.

Another popular feature of ios 5 is Twitter integration, where with a single sign in you can let multiple apps make use of your Twitter credentials including camera and photos program, letting you tweet images directly from your gallery. What seems to be a very intelligent feature is self descriptive feature which is intelligent enough to remind you to do things based upon your location. A new split keyboard has also been shown off in ios 5. A significant novelty is the iMessage, a messaging service dedicatedly for ios users, which comes with a delivery and read receipts, an indicator for when the other party is typing, and the ability to push message to all your devices.

With these and many more amazing features such as Newsstand, a custom newsstand for all your subscriptions, advanced camera with flexibility of using the camera button right from the lock screen and use of volume up button to snap a pic in a flash, Advanced photo enhancement feature, netsurfing with all new safari web browser, game centre and Wi fi sync are just to name a few. The list of fully loaded ios features just goes on. It would not be wrong to say that with ios 5, Apple has taken an operating system which was already years ahead in technological breakthrough further ahead.

Apple iPhone 5- Creating a Buzz in the Market

It has not been much days since Apple iPhone 4 was released, however the buzz for Apple iPhone 5 have already started in the market. Apple iPhone 5 is said to be having a faster processor and a simple and easy to user interface. According to some unconfirmed reports, the shipping of this great Apple product will start somewhere in September later this year.

Apple iPhone which was introduced in the year 2007 with a beautiful touch screen has become a landmark smartphone in the market. Usually the company comes out with a new product every year, however with Apple iPhone 4 being launched in 2010; there has been delay this year. 

Apple has still not made iPhone 5 news public, as they feel that it may hamper the sales of its current version. iPhone is not just a great cell phone but has become a necessity for us. The company sold more than 17 million units in last quarter of the year 2010. Even the other major companies like Nokia, Samsung and LG are also facing stiff competition from Apple, despite of the fact that with just one phone in their kitty Apple are taking on variety giants like Nokia, Samsung etc.

If reports are to be believed another noticeable characteristic of Apple iPhone 5 is that it is going to be affordable. The features of this phone will surely be much more sophisticated and useful than the current version, however there is not going to be much difference in its price. Also, the 8 MP camera feature of this phone is something which is going to impress the users. In terms of looks, the device will look more or less the same as iPhone 4 with the only difference being the rounder edges and back.

Lastly, Apple iPhone is a great device. It helps you to perform various day to day tasks, keeps you connected, allow you to play games, click photos and watch videos. With Apple iPhone 5 being launched soon, the company is going to touch new heights soon.
